Facial expressions part 3

This was my exploration project. I explored different cultures, patterns and images of people. I tried to reflect them through my own artistic style and color pallets, but preserve their authenticity in the same time. My intention was to celebrate the ever-varying beauty of human faces, the beauty incident to each of us.

I've always thought that one can find an inspiration from anything that surrounds us. I am interested in ethnic motives in arts for some time already, in what for the long time was called “primitive arts”, but I hope these times are forby. It rightfully is an intrinsic part of human cultural heritage. I was definitely inspired by many museums and exhibitions dedicated to this topic.

I can’t say it was limited only to that though, surrealism art and pop art are usual sources of an inspiration for me. Some of the works in this series unconsciously combine features of these both principal themes.

Illustrations were drawn and coloured in PS with Wacom.
